During this project, I had time to study various expression techniques using various art materials based on diverse materials and inspirations in everyday life. Not only the visible landscape and objects, but also abstract aspects such as emotions and memories were intended to be realized through paintings. There are various techniques such as factual description, abstract expression, and simplification, and through these techniques, I realized that I could more effectively express the meaning or emotion that I want to convey through painting.
Art Materials
Pencil
The pencil is a tool used in every basic step of drawing. Various depths can be expressed depending on the thickness and brightness of the pencil lead. In addition, since it is easy to correct using an eraser, it is often used to shape it. And it is my favorite art tool in that it can realize a sense of space and three-dimensional effect on paper with only black and white brightness through drawing technique.
The biggest advantage of a pencil is that it is thick enough with a single pencil and the strength and strength of the scale and line can be adjusted.

Pen
The pen is often used to organize neat lines in a picture. With just a pen, you can make a strong impression on a picture, and you can create a variety of atmospheres, such as a clean or rough feeling on the picture.
Using the thick and thin line of the pen, I created a sense of space in the painting. Buildings with a large weight in the drawings are sketched in advance with thick lines to differentiate them from the background. After that, by elaborating the background with a thin pen tip, the background and the subject part are expressed as a natural space in the composition.
In addition, when conceiving a picture like abstract painting with only linear elements without an intuitive shape, using a pen rather than a pencil is effective in expressing the feeling of line.
Colorpencil
Color pencils have the most merit in that they can express the color I want. Although it is possible to adjust the color, it is a tool that allows you to freely adjust the brightness according to the strength and weakness of colored pencils. I can express the color I want with a single color, but I can create more colorful colors by mixing the colors I want.
Color pencils are a tool that is not restricted by color or form because it is possible to smoothly apply background tone as well as precise description of objects by using it.
iPad (Digital Drawing)
Although digital drawing has not been commercialized, it is the most expressive tool among the existing drawing tools. With one device, you can implement various expression methods such as pencils, pens, colored pencils, and paints with one pen. In addition, by setting an image as a layer, you can sketch on it, enabling more precise and elaborate work.
